Pulu Wall Tapestry
Indicative concept price ¥27,972
A traditional Tibetan pulu wall tapestry with horizontal stripe patterns in natural undyed wool tones, handwoven on a traditional loom.
Pulu (姘嗘皣) is the traditional Tibetan wool fabric woven on wooden looms by hand. Unlike knotted rugs, pulu is a tightly woven flat textile used for centuries across the plateau鈥攆or clothing, tent walls, floor covering, and ceremonial drapes. This tapestry presents pulu's characteristic stripe pattern as a contemporary wall piece. Each region of Tibet has distinct stripe combinations, making each piece a geographical signature.
