A handwoven wall tapestry translating highland volcanic rock textures into wool, mineral-dyed in basalt grey and charcoal.
The Tibetan plateau is shaped by volcanic forces. The Basalt Tapestry translates this geological language into weaving. Mineral-dyed using traditional stone-pigment techniques, the palette moves from deep basalt black through volcanic grey to ash white. Handwoven on a vertical loom with deliberate irregularity.
